Good to know

  • Depop does not say whether the processing fee is also charged on the buyer's Marketplace fee, so treat this as a close estimate.
  • Enter what the buyer pays for shipping to include it: processing is charged on it too.
  • Boosting is 12% of the item price, charged only if a buyer interacted with the boosted listing and bought within 28 days.

How Depop fees work

Depop does not charge US sellers a selling fee. What you pay is payment processing: 3.3% plus $0.45, on the item price, the shipping and the sales tax together. It is charged once per transaction, so a bundle pays one $0.45 rather than one per item.

That makes Depop one of the cheapest places to sell in percentage terms, especially on higher-priced items. On a $50 sale with no shipping charged and 7% tax, processing comes to about $2.22. The trade-off is that low-priced items feel the flat $0.45 more: on a $5 sale, it alone is 9% of the price.

Buyers pay a separate Marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1. Depop introduced it in the US in July 2024. The exact figure appears only at checkout, and it does not come out of your earnings, but it does affect how expensive your item looks next to the same item elsewhere.

Boosting is optional, and it is the one way your costs jump. A boosted listing costs 12% of the item price, excluding tax. You pay only when a buyer interacted with the boosted listing and bought within 28 days. Depop raised the rate to 12% in March 2026, so older articles quoting 8% are out of date. Enter any ad rate above to include it in your result.

Shipping runs on a prepaid USPS label, and Depop says the buyer pays for it, so your shipping cost is not subtracted here. Since October 28, 2026, new listings can no longer use the separate "Other" shipping option. If a sale is refunded, Depop reverses your seller fees.

A worked example

Say you sell an item you paid $10.00 for at $50.00, with free shipping to the buyer and 7% sales tax, the buyer pays for the label. On Depop that comes to Payment processing $2.22, $2.22 in total. You keep $37.78, a 75.6% margin.
